Police beat May 29
Robbery reported: Stephen Adams, 27, of Clarksville, reported to Southwest Regional Police he was robbed in the parking lot of Bentleyville Post Office by two men at 1:20 a.m. May 20. The robbers stole $280 and a silver necklace from Adams, he said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department, including on its Facebook page.
Burglary arrest: Keith L. Grimes, 22, of 467 Spring St., Richeyville, was arrested over the weekend on charges filed by Southwest Regional Police in connection with a Jan. 22 burglary at the home of Diana and Lauren Schneider, 202 Washington St., Bentleyville. When Lauren Schneider came home, she said she found Grimes inside the house with a pair of Ugg boots he had given her. Grimes was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of burglary, theft and harassment. He was placed in the Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
Man assaulted: Rondell L. Johnson of Duquesne Avenue, Canonsburg, was assaulted Monday in the 700 block of Duquesne by another man, Canonsburg police said. He was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment after hitting his head on a curb when he was knocked to the ground.
Necklace stolen: Amanda R. Snatchko of 7 Campbell St., Avella, told Canonsburg police Saturday her 24-karat gold necklace was stolen while she was visiting a relative at a home on North Jefferson Avenue.
Two arrested: Sean C. Knox, 36, and Sherri Lee Stiffler, 36, both of 678 W. Wylie Ave., Canton, were arrested by state police after allegedly assaulting each other at their home Friday. He is accused of kicking her and throwing her in the bushes. She is accused of hitting him in the back of the head. Both were arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in the Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond. Knox is charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. Stiffler is charged with simple assault and harassment.
Mischief charge: Michael G. Jackson, 37, of Washington, will be charged with criminal mischief after he allegedly entered the apartment of Portia Owens in Belvedere Acres Sunday and damaged doors, drywall and a television. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Assault arrest: Renee Michelle Darnell, 37, of 129 Main St., West Alexander, was arrested over the weekend by Donegal police for allegedly assaulting Anthony Pasquerilla. She was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
Alcohol, theft charges: Zachary Lee Seibert, 22, of 485 Fayette St., Washington, was arrested Monday by North Franklin police after officers received a complaint about people going through unlocked vehicles at Washington Crown Center. When police arrived, they said they found Seibert and 19-year-old Dominic Wright. Both were intoxicated, police said. Wright told police Seibert had given him alcohol. Seibert was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of conspiracy, furnishing alcohol to minors, public drunkenness and theft from a motor vehicle. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 percentage bond.
Register theft: Sarah Joan Taneyhill, 19, of 65 Skylark Dr., was charged by North Franklin police with stealing $1,500 from a cash register at Sears department store in Washington Crown Center. Taneyhill allegedly stole the money in small increments while working as a sales associate between April 30 and May 24 to pay for her college loans. Charges were sent by District Judge Ethan Ward.
Cellphone theft: North Franklin police charged Conley Michael Rusko III, 30, of Uniontown, with two theft charges for taking a lost cellphone from a candy store in Washington Crown Center May 11. Police viewed Rusko take the Galaxy 3S device, worth $250. Charges to be sent through the office or District Judge Ethan Ward.
Gasoline cans stolen: Two five-gallon gasoline cans were reported stolen over the weekend from a shed at the 84 Golf Course, 1360 Route 519, North Strabane police said.
Bicycle found: North Strabane police are looking for the owner of a 10-speed bicycle found on Johnson Road near the Chartiers Township line Friday afternoon. To claim the bicycle, call police at 724-746-8474.
Theft from vehicle: An unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 100 block of McClintock Road was entered between 7 p.m. Sunday and 12:35 p.m. Monday, and items were thrown around, township police said. Four $1 bills and three gift cards valued at $20 to $25 each were stolen, police said.
Checkbook stolen: An unlocked sport-utility vehicle was entered between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday while it was parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Inverness Drive, and a checkbook was stolen, township police said. A large quantity of coins under the checkbook were not stolen. Items from the glovebox were removed and placed on the front seat but were not stolen, and golf clubs and a golf bag in the rear of the vehicle were not removed, police said.
Theft of cash: Two men were seen on video entering Walgreens on Washington Road, and one was viewed removing cash from an unattended register in the front of the store, township police said. About $100 in cash was stolen, police said. The theft was reported at 11:07 a.m. Saturday but occurred at 9:44 p.m. Thursday, police said. A similar theft involving two men occurred around the same time at the Walgreens in Bethel Park, township police said. There is no further description of the men, except that one man entered the store and walked around while the second man entered and removed the cash in both incidents.
One injured: Clyde Shaw of Wheeling, W.Va., was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment following a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of Waterdam Road at 9:02 a.m. Friday, township police said. Shaw, 34, of National Road, was traveling east on Waterdam Road when his sport-utility vehicle collided with another sport-utility vehicle operated by Paul McKosky that was making a left turn onto Waterdam Road from a nearby office complex, police said. McKosky, 69, of Sugar Camp Road, Venetia, was not injured. Shaw complained of neck pain and was treated by members of Peters Township Fire Department until paramedics arrived from Peters Township Ambulance Service and transported him to a hospital.
Assault, harassment charges: Mickie Zona Parkin, 23, of 1801 Beech Hollow Road, Robinson, was arrested Friday by McDonald police for allegedly assaulting a woman during a confrontation at their home. Parkin was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Theft charge: Raymond G. Peters, 40, of 164 Meadow Ave., Westland, was arrested Sunday by South Strabane police on a charge of retail theft after he allegedly stole a computer valued at $867 from Walmart, Trinity Point. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
Second burglary: Karen Mingo of 910 Maple Ave. told South Strabane police Sunday a flat-screen television was stolen from an enclosed back porch. It was the second burglary she has reported in the past week. Earlier, items were stolen from her garage.
Drug charges: Charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were filed against James Keith Hoey, 55, of 4490 Finleyville-Elrama Road, Finleyville, by Southwest Regional Police Department. The charges stem from a traffic stop on April 27. They were filed recently with District Judge James Ellis.
False ID charge: James A. Sadler, 43, of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, was arrested Thursday by Southwest Regional police on a charge of false identification to police after he allegedly gave an officer another name during a traffic stop. Sadler is wanted on a contempt warrant in Ohio. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in the Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
Robbery, theft charges: Javarr M. Thomas of 95 Sumner Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday by Washington police after he allegedly assaulted and robbed Matthew McCollum of his cellphone in the 100 block of East Walnut Street. Thomas was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of robbery, theft, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Trespass, disorderly charges: Brandon M. Retos, 30, of 103 Lemoyne Ave., East Washington, was arrested Sunday by Washington police after he allegedly was found inside the basement of his former girlfriend’s home at 697 Beech St. Police said he reportedly kicked open the door. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Drug charge: Ryan L. Wallace, 25, no address available, was arraigned over the weekend by District Judge Ethan Ward on a charge of possession of cocaine filed by state police stemming from an alleged May 23, 2011, sale of the drug to a confidential informant in a parking lot along Henderson Avenue, Washington. He was released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
False reports: Two people were charged with giving false information to city police about an incident that involved a photograph showing a 3-year-old girl with her hands and feet tied behind her. Brad Linhart, 26, of 1225 Summerlea Ave., and Jamie Poborski, 21, of 118 Altamont St., each told police the other person was responsible for the photograph of the bound child, which eventually was obtained by child services. Police investigating the incident determined the picture was taken while the child was playing and was in no danger during the incident. Charges were sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Simple assault: Clark Jacob Rudolph, 52, was charged by city police for a fight with his landlord April 23. According to court documents, Rudolph kneed and “karate chopped” his landlord, Valerie Mack, after an argument. Charges to be sent through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Projectiles propelled: Ramone J. Barnes, 26, of 674 Addison St., was charged with propelling a projectile into an occupied vehicle, harassment and criminal mischief after an argument with his ex-girlfriend. According to court documents, Hilary Byers of Claysville told city police he was driving Barnes home when he exited the vehicle, threw her cellphone and threw a rock through her back driver’s side window. Charges to be filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Stolen bicycles: Kristy Clutter of Claysville told city police a lock was pried off of the door of a garage on Ewing Street sometime after May 23 and three bicycles were stolen.
Broken glass: Keauna Beighle told city police a brick was thrown through the driver’s side window of her vehicle while it was parked in the alley behind West Hallam Avenue Saturday.
Domestic: City police will charge Robert Fields Jr., 23, of 412 East Maiden St., after an argument at his residence with his girlfriend, Crystal Cyphers, turned physical, police said. According to the police report, Fields punched Cyphers in the face and stomach and broke the side mirror on the vehicle of a passerby who stopped to help. Charges will be filed through the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Stolen vehicle: Jonathan Gevas of 515 Duncan Ave. told city police his 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from his residence after Sunday evening.
Simple assault: City police will charge Levi Cutshall, 21, no address given, for allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend, Amber Pople of Washington, in the parking lot of CVS Pharmacy on West Beau Street. According to the police report, Cutshall pulled into the lot behind Pople and choked her when she rolled down her window.
