Police: Teen stabbed girlfriend on trail

1 min read

SKIPPACK (AP) — Authorities say a 16-year-old boy is facing charges after fatally stabbing his girlfriend on a hiking trail in suburban Philadelphia.

Montgomery County prosecutors say 16-year-old Tristan Brian Stahley is charged with first- and third-degree murder in Saturday’s killing of 17-year-old Julie Siller, who was scheduled to graduate from Spring-Ford Area High School in three weeks.

Prosecutors say Stahley admitted stabbing Siller and hiding her body in woods along the Skippack Trail, where the two had been arguing. Authorities say Stahley’s mother told them he’d recently been treated for a narcotics problem and had been taking anti-depressants.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Stahley next week. A telephone listing for him could not immediately be located and it wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
