Police beat June 1
Burglary reported: Beverly J. Scott, 16 Teri Lane, Amwell, told state police coins and a shoebox containing cash were stolen in a burglary of her home between May 12 and 26.
Faces drug charges: A Bentleyville man was arraigned Friday on charges of possession and delivery of a controlled substance filed by state police. Brent William Hendershot, 27, of 843 Main St., Apt. B, is charged with possessing and delivering two Clonazepham tablets to a man March 11 at Bentleyville Tavern, according to court documents. District Justice Curt Thompson sent bond at $25,000 unsecured and Hendershot was released.
Faces assault charge: Geneva Yarbrough, 18, of 527 Chartiers Ave., Canonsburg, will be charged by Canonsburg police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting Danielle Soyring, 18, of Canonsburg, Thursday inside a vehicle while it was parked at the ball fields off Iron Street. Yarbrough reportedly got into the vehicle, locked the doors and punched Soyring in the head. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Provided alcohol: Mark McCracken, 35, of 537 Giffin Ave., Canonsburg, was charged Tuesday by Canonsburg police with corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors for allegedly giving a 14-year-old boy beer at his home on Feb. 24. McCracken was arraigned Friday before District Judge David Mark on those charges as well as charges filed stemming from drunkenness and trespassing incidents earlier this year in Canonsburg. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $7,500 bond.
Items stolen: Joseph Rhoads of Pittsburgh told Canonsburg police a Pittsburgh Pirates shirt, gym shorts and grooming kit were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 27 S. Central Ave., Thursday. A thin black man in a silver Chevrolet Tahoe was seen going through vehicles although nothing else was stolen.
Assault charge: Jonathan M. Gillespie, 29, of 402 Broad St., Washington, was arraigned Thursday on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of punching Angela Moschell Gillespie in the left eye during a confrontation Tuesday at their home at 2201 Old National Pike, Canton. Gillespie, who was in the Washington County jail on a probation violation, was arraigned before District Judge David Mark, who set bond at $5,000.
Harassment charges: Kayleigh N. Addis, 23, and Jack L. Collins, 25, both of Washington, will be charged by state police with harassment for allegedly punching each other during a confrontation Thursday at 30 Bel Air Drive, Canton. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Driver sought: State police are looking for the driver of a green sport-utility vehicle, possibly an Isuzu Trooper, involved in a five-vehicle chain reaction crash about 5:40 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 79 near the Southpointe exit. A vehicle driven by Val Ruchkin of Pittsburgh stopped to avoid hitting the vehicle, which had stopped. A vehicle driven by Ronnie Nanni, 45, of Bridgeville, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Jennifer Smith, 34, of Bridgeville, pushing it past a vehicle driven by Nora Morris, 32, of Bridgeville and into Ruchkin’s vehicle, which then hit the sport- utility vehicle. The driver of that left vehicle the scene after determining no one was injured. Anyone with information is asked to call Trooper Douglas Arndt at 724-223-5200.
Lawn mower theft: Murray Lee McAnany, 44, of 1058 E. Maiden St., Washington, was charged Friday with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a Troybilt lawn mower from Bryan Harris, 40 North Ave., Wednesday. East Washington police said Harris found his lawn mower at a Washington pawn shop and bought it back for $25. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Harassment charge: Thomas A. Mansmann, 52, of 651 Gladden Road, Canonsburg, was charged Thursday with harassment by North Strabane police after he reportedly continued to try to contact his estranged wife, Joni Mansmann. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Disorderly charge: Pau Khup Lian, 28, of New Castle, was charged with disorderly conduct by state police at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino after he allegedly kicked and spat on a slot machine at the casino Thursday night.
Two charged: Tomacina Joanne Walters, 28, 57 Third St., Atlasburg, and Cole Younger Littleton, 29, of 8 Apple Way, Joffre, were charged Wednesday by Smith police with theft and receiving stolen property. The two are accused of stealing a motor and transmission on April 14 from a vehicle owned by a relative of Walters while it was parked at her home. The two sold the items for $500, police said. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
DUI charge: Glenda Ann Tabone, 58, of Carnegie, was charged Tuesday by Smith police with driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a May 24 incident on Hammond Creek Road. Police received a report about 10:15 a.m. that a woman was slumped over, behind the steering wheel of her car. Tabone, who was being treated by ambulance personnel, told police that she had been drinking and could not drive any more so she pulled her car over. Her blood alcohol level was more than four times the 0.08 limit presumed for intoxication. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Harassment charge: Hannah Bottone, 25, of Clairton, was charged by Southwest Regional police with two counts of harassment stemming from an altercation Tuesday at 7 Davidson Ave., Union, with Troy Wazny, 27, and Crystal Sporio, 24, both of Union. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Guns stolen: David Connelly of Washington and Steven McAteer of Imperial told state police Monday that their handguns were stolen from their unlocked vehicles while parked at Four Seasons Resort, 3 Camp Resort Road, East Finley. Connelly reported his Smith & Wesson .38-caliber pistol stolen while McAteer’s .380-caliber Ruger was taken, state police said.
