An informational presentation on water quality and Marcellus Shale will be held at 10:30 a.m. today in Morris Township Community Center in Nineveh. Kendra Hatcher with Downstream Strategies of Morgantown, W.Va., will speak.

An Election Day lunch will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Washington Township Building in Ruff Creek. The lunch is sponsored by the Waynesburg Central High School Lady Raiders’ softball team. Menu items include; creamed chicken sandwiches, ham barbecue sandwiches, homemade noodles, cabbage and noodles, chicken and noodles, chili, vegetable soup, potato salad, cookies, brownies, pie, cheesecake, water, pop, coffee, hot chocolate and ice tea.

Carmichaels Grange No. 1389 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, in the grange hall.

Greene County Veterans Affairs will hold a veterans’ outreach at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in Bobtown Senior Center. Veterans can make an appointment or stop by to learn about services, including pension, compensation, disability, health care, life insurance, funeral and burial claims and retroactive benefits, said Dalene Watson, office director. A baked steak dinner will be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jefferson Community Center. The menu will include: baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, country-style green beans, candied carrots, homemade applesauce, rolls, desserts and beverage. The cost for adults is $10. The cost for children 12 and under is $5. Carry-outs will be available.
