Police beat Nov. 12
Gun stolen: Kevin Salisbury of 330 Lincoln Ave., Bentleyville, told Southwest Regional police Friday that his Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun was stolen from his home. The gun is silver with a black handle. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Cash, jewelry stolen: John Baranus and Michelle Ringer of 330 Lincoln Ave., Bentleyville, told Southwest Regional police Saturday that a ruby necklace, earrings and ring, a diamond ring and $1,100 was stolen from their home. They told police the jewelry was valued at more than $1,000. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Robbery arrest: Adam Logan, 27, of California, was arrested early Saturday by California police on charges of robbery, burglary, simple assault, theft, loitering and prowling at night, receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and harassment. Three women stopped police about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Second Street and Peach Alley to report that one of them had been robbed by a man who stole her purse and fled into California Apartments. Police said Logan was found hiding in a closet of one of the apartments. He was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Fire reported: Canonsburg firefighters were called Sunday afternoon to the home of Evelyn Telesko, 13 Morgan St., for a reported fire in her microwave oven, police said. Telesko refused treatment. Firefighters removed smoke from the house.
Library window damaged: A double-pane window at Chartiers-Houston Community Library, 730 W. Grant St., was broken by vandals between 4 p.m. Saturday and Monday morning, Chartiers police said. Three bricks apparently were used and were found inside the building. There was no sign that anyone entered the building, police said. Barrel, stand stolen: John Orbin of 2426 W. Pike St. told Chartiers police Saturday that a stainless steel barrel and stand were stolen from his property.
Trespass, loitering charges: Andrew Edward White, 42, of 970 Fayette St., Washington, was charged with criminal trespass and loitering and prowling at night stemming from an incident early Thursday at 101 S. McDonald St., McDonald police said. Police were called for a report of a man on the roof trying to enter the building. Police said they found White sitting on the stoop. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.
Mischief, trespass charges: Clarence Parkinson, 48, of 75 Lindley Road, North Strabane, will be charged by township police with criminal mischief and criminal trespass for allegedly breaking off sections of the fence of his neighbor, Raymond L. Morrow. He also is accused of urinating on the fence and damaging a surveillance camera and siding. Police said his actions were captured by a surveillance system. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Man charged: A McDonald man will be charged by summons with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop at 1:47 a.m. Sunday, township police said. David G. Aul, 30, of 4510 Battle Ridge Road, was stopped for speeding as he drove south on Washington Road, and officers said they detected the odor of alcohol on his breath. Aul registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.193 percent, police said. The state presumes intoxication at 0.08 percent. A cigar tube in his pocket was found to contain a small amount of marijuana, police said.
Items stolen: An employee of Golden Triangle Construction told Southwest Regional police Wednesday that 100 2-inch T-bolts, a 36-inch retaining ring and about a dozen fenceposts were stolen from a construction site in the 300 block of McChain Road, Union. Driver injured: Ronald Buick, 70, of Elizabeth, was injured Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle went off Finleyville-Elrama Road, Union, and hit a utility pole, Southwest Regional police said.
Wallet, keys stolen: Deborah Sibert of 31 Circle Drive, Union, told Southwest Regional police Friday that her wallet, a spare set of keys and cash were stolen from her home and vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Money stolen: A resident of the 100 block of West Walnut Street told Washington police Friday that $100 was stolen from his vehicle.
Window broken: A resident of the 700 block of Ewing Street told Washington police Friday that a window on his van was broken.
