Student wins ribbons at rabbit show
Jenna Longstreth, daughter of Chuck and Jane Longstreth of Waynesburg, recently started raising and showing rabbits, following in the footsteps of her cousin, Lindsey Longstreth, and older sister, Cara Longstreth.
Jenna, a first-grade student at Waynesburg Central Elementary School, recently took the second highest honor at the youth show in Dover, Ohio. The breed she picked to start her project is called the Dwarf Hotot and they are very small, all white coat with black eye circles. They look like they are wearing eyeliner. She currently has four rabbits and began showing less than a year ago.
At the open show in Ohio, one of her rabbits first won Best of Breed and then went on to compete for the Best in Show title. Her rabbit was selected Youth Reserve in Show which is quite a feat to accomplish. Most breeders show for years before they attain a win like this.
