Pleaders sentenced in county court
WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman. They included:
Scott Alan Mathieson, 33, of 982 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense in 10 years; tampering with an ignition lock, illegally operating a vehicle not equipped with an ignition lock; and two summary violations; arrested June 28, Mathieson had a blood-alcohol content of 0.149 percent; he also had bypassed the ignition interlock in his vehicle; sentence – following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
James Allen Scott, 38, of 25 W. High St., Waynesburg; offenses – simple assault, terroristic threats; June 30, Scott slashed John Shriver in the wrist with a knife during an argument on Fruit Alley in Waynesburg; sentence – 60 days to 23 ½ months in jail, $300 fine.
Tammy Lynn Arthur, 44, of 52 W. Greene St., Waynesburg; offenses – possession of drug paraphernalia; a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana was withdrawn; on Feb. 8, conducting a community detail at Mountain View Gardens, state police smelled burning marijuana when Arthur opened the door of apartment she occupied; she agreed to a search of the apartment; police found digital scales, a smoking device and 22.9 grams of marijuana; sentence – 1 year probation, $200 fine.
Seth Ryan Lowry, 23, of 8 Diaz Lane, Nemacolin; offenses – two counts each theft and receiving stolen property; on Feb. 11, probation officers visited his home in regard to a previous offense and found two wallets and identification cards that were found to have been stolen; sentence – 60 days to 23 ½ months in jail; $274.39 in restitution; 225 hours of community service.
