A 4-year-old girl was injured Thursday when she fell from a moving vehicle in Donegal Township.

The girl was flown to a hospital for treatment. Her name and condition have not been released.

Township police Chief John Yancosek said the incident occurred on Route 40 at Lake Road at 3:30 p.m. Yancosek said police are still investigating the incident, including how the girl fell from the vehicle.

Route 40 was shut down for a time while emergency crews tended to the girl and police conducted an initial investigation.

Yancosek said the investigation “will take time.” He would not speculate on whether charges will be filed.
