No tax increase in Canonsburg tentative budget
Canonsburg Borough Council has approved a tentative budget for 2014 with no tax increase for residents.
The $4.5 million budget includes $1.5 million for the police department with money for a new police cruiser. Council members went into an executive session during a nonlegislative meeting this month to discuss personnel issues, and then voted to approve the tentative budget at the following voting meeting. The tentative budget includes a $4,281 raise for Borough Manager Bob Kipp, who took on the duties of zoning officer last month.
Council also approved a $1.7 million tentative budget for Canonsburg-Houston Joint Authority.
