Rolling Meadows launches Buy a Brick project
WAYNESBURG – Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation launched a new fundraising program Friday, designed to recognize and honor veterans within Waynesburg and surrounding communities.
Called the Veterans Square initiative, members of the community, businesses and organizations may purchase laser-engraved memorial bricks to honor a veteran who served or for those veterans who continue to inspire every day.
The Memorial Foundation and Walk, to be known as Veterans Square, will offer a premier patio, walk, memorial wall and seating area for visitors to enjoy around the flag pole in front of the building.
Brick sales began Veterans Day and order forms are available at local American Legion Posts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, local offices of state Rep. Pam Snyder and state Sen. Tim Solobay and at Rolling Meadows.
Bricks may also be purchased online by selecting Rolling Meadows Buy a Brick Campaign at www.fundraisingbrick.com. Prices of the bricks range from $150 to $1,000, depending on the size, the number of lines and whether any clipart is used.
Proceeds from the fundraising campaign will support construction of the memorial area and resident transportation.
Rolling Meadows anticpates the brick sales to be a nine-month campaign, and it is expected ground will be broken for Veterans Square near or on Memorial Day.
Attending Friday’s kickoff were Snyder, the three county commissioners andadministrative personnel from Rolling Meadows.
