Teen assaulted: McDonald police were called Nov. 11 to the 1500 block of North Main Street, Burgettstown, for a report of a 15-year-old boy who was assaulted by another teen. Both fell through a glass door. Police are continuing their investigation.

Mother arrested: Cherri Moskal was arrested at 3:22 p.m. Monday, charged with simple assault and harassment following a fight with her daughter, Kasandra Moskal, in front of 333 Millers Run Road, township police said. Cherri Moskal, 49, of 42 Peterson St., Avella, was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo and placed in Washington County Jail on $1,500 bond. A police officer on patrol noticed a car pulled off Millers Run Road and saw Cherri Moskal standing outside the passenger side. He said she had a scratch on her neck and told him that her daughter, the driver, and she became involved in a argument in the car, and her daughter pulled off the road. Kasandra Moskal told police her mother struck her three times in the mouth with a closed fist, resulting in blood in her mouth. She also had scratches on her arm. Neither woman required medical attention, police said.

Items stolen: Matthew Mason of Metropolis, Ill., told Chartiers police Friday that a compound bow, wallet, leather boots and a half carton of Marlboro cigarettes were stolen from his pickup truck while it was parked at the Microtel motel, 501 Racetrack Road, Chartiers police said. A white man, about 6 feet tall and wearing a black knit cap and black shirt, was seen running from the truck. The boots were found in a yard off Ewing Street.

Charged in fight: Donald Cook, 80, of 206 Stevenson St., Midway, was charged Monday by McDonald police with harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly punched Richard Cook, 60, of McDonald, in the face during a fight that afternoon in Giant Eagle, 200 Station St. Police said it was a family dispute over real estate. The two are uncle and nephew. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.

One injured: John Gill, 75, of Spraggs, was injured Monday afternoon when his vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer driven by Ty S. Garcia, 28, of Clarksburg, W.Va., on Interstate 70 eastbound near the West Chestnut Street exit, North Franklin. State police said Gill was hit after abruptly slowing down in the left lane of the highway. He was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.

Driver injured: Timothy Brown, 50, of 6239 Brownsville Road, Finleyville, was injured Monday morning when his pickup truck went off Thomas-Eighty Four Road, hit a tree head-on and flipped over. Brown, who was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment, told North Strabane police that he was reaching for his cellphone.

Three hurt: Three people were injured in a five-vehicle, chain-reaction crash Monday morning in the 700 block of Waterdam Road. North Strabane police said three vehicles were stopped in a state Department of Transportation work zone controlled by flaggers. A car driven by Lori Barnes, 56, of 98 Barr Road, Finleyville, was able to stop after cresting a hill, North Strabane police said. A car behind her, driven by Morgan Yatsko, 19, of 257 Deerfield Drive, Canonsburg, was unable to stop. She struck the rear of Barnes’ car, forcing it into the back of a sport utility vehicle driven by Melissa A. Richardson, 37, of 126 Breezewood Drive, Venetia. The other drivers involved were Robert Williams, 66, of McKees Rocks and Catherine Schwarzbach, 70, of 305 Forest Glen Drive, Eighty Four. Barnes and a passenger, Ann Barnes, 92, of the same address, were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment. Yatsko also was injured.

Drugs stolen: Walter Schlebusch of Robinson told McDonald police Sunday that his prescription painkillers were stolen from his locker at Reaxis, 941 Robinson Highway, Robinson.

Wallet stolen: Tonya Marshall of Canton Township told South Strabane police Monday that her wallet was stolen from her purse under the cash register while she was working at Nine West, Tanger Outlets. The wallet contained $84, credit cards, birth certificates and Social Security cards.

Attempted break-in: Brad Celento of 3974 Finleyville-Elrama Road, Union, told Southwest Regional police Saturday that the front and rear doors of his home were damaged in an apparent break-in attempt. Anyone with information is asked to call 724-929-8484.

Firearms charges: DeAngelo Anthony Wells, 26, of 429 Houston St., Washington, was arrested Sunday by Washington police after he allegedly was found with a loaded 9 mm Smith & Wesson handgun that had been reported stolen to East Washington police. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of person not to possess a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license and receiving stolen property. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
