Trinity assistant lacrosse coach dies

1 min read

A Trinity Area High School assistant lacrosse coach was found dead in his home Sunday.

Daniel R. Berry, 30, of Washington, helped coach the boys’ high school club team. Trinity Area School District Superintendent Dr. Paul Kasunich said he was not aware of the cause of death and would not speculate. The Washington County coroner’s office did not return calls or email for additional information.

Kasunich said counselors were made available for students Monday. Kasunich said Berry was not a teacher with the district and could not say how long he had been working with the lacrosse team.

Kasunich said the school district will hold off on any plans to remember Berry, a Trinity graduate, until officials speak with the family.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the William G. Neal Funeral Home in Washington at a later time.
