Eighty Four man charged in East Bethlehem burglary
An Eighty Four man was arrested Thursday by East Bethlehem Township police for allegedly burglarizing a Clarksville home in September.
Jeremy D. Daniels, 20, of 54 Mancha St., and two other men are accused of breaking into the home of Roberta Ross. Police were notified after her daughter, Randi Marodi, was informed of an attempt on Sept. 18 to cash several of Ross’ checks at Charleroi Federal Savings Bank in Bentleyville.
Marodi checked her mother’s home and discovered it had been burglarized. Stolen from the home were a washer, dryer, television, jewelry and checks. Items also were thrown around the home, including pieces of jewelry.
Police said it appeared the intruders had cooked a meal and spent several nights in the home.
Warrants have been obtained for the two other suspects in connection with the burglary.
Daniels was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on five counts of theft and receiving stolen property and one count of burglary and criminal trespass. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday before Kanalis.
