Local man accused of waving gun

2 min read

A North Franklin Township man faces several charges after he allegedly waved a gun and pointed it at three people earlier this month at a township housing complex.

Frank Farmer III, 24, of 399 Hancock St., is accused of pointing the gun at Evan Jiminez, 25, and Janna Slagle, 21, both of Washington, and Joshua Riddle, 25, of Ambridge, while they were at the Woodlands in the early morning hours of Nov. 17.

The three had gone to the apartment that Farmer shares with his girlfriend, Jessica Liaple, to check on her. After they banged on the door of the residence, she yelled that she was OK and they could leave.

Police said the three left to see other friends, but as they were returning to their vehicle, Farmer reportedly came out of the residence and pointed the gun.

When police arrived, they said Farmer denied pointing the weapon and denied even having a gun. When police started looking for the weapon, they say Farmer admitted to hiding it under his bed. Police determined the .40-caliber Springfield pistol had been reported stolen a year earlier to North Strabane Township police by Brian Roney. Roney told North Strabane police the gun was stolen during a party he hosted at his Vance Drive home.

Liaple told police she did not witness the incident.

Farmer is charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count each of terroristic threats, harassment, receiving stolen property, theft, disorderly conduct, simple assault and having a prohibited offensive weapon. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
