Lions Club names students of month
WAYNESBURG – Waynesburg Central High School seniors Ally Younken and Bo Hampson have been selected by the high school faculty as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for November.
Younken, daughter of Mike and Shelley Younken, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
She is a member of National Honor Society, marching and concert bands, president of the ski club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SADD and varsity club. She also is captain of the cross country team and is also a member of the track and field team.
For the last two years, she has played in the All-State Lions Band, received the 4-H “I Dare You” award, the fall scholar athlete award and the Who’s Who award.
Outside of school, Younken is secretary of the 4-H Market Lamb and Swine clubs, vice president of the 4-H County Council and she volunteers for Lions Club events.
Younken plans to attend Penn State University and major in animal science.
Hampson, son of Ron and Debbie Hampson of Sugar Run Road, maintains 3.5 grade-point average.
He is a member of the varsity club and participates in football and wrestling. He was captain for the 2013 football team and as selected captain of this year’s wrestling team. He is a four-year letterwinner in football and wrestling and was named a 2013 Interstate Conference All-Star.
Hampson plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in business.
