Two Allegheny County residents were arrested Friday afternoon on drug charges after state police found suspected heroin during a traffic stop on Interstate 79.

Arrested were Dashaee Domanae Johnson, 24, of McKees Rocks, and Herbert Chester Parrott, 22, of Braddock.

Trooper Ryan Deems said he stopped the vehicle for a minor traffic violation of riding in the left lane on I-79 southbound near the Houston/Eighty four exit in North Strabane Township.

During the stop, police determined that Johnson did not have a valid driver’s license and Parrott was wanted on summary warrants in Allegheny County courts.

Johnson and Parrott were removed from the vehicle so they could be escorted off the highway. The vehicle was a rental car from a local dealership and arrangements were made to tow it off the interstate.

Police searched the area were Parrott had been sitting in the vehicle and found a white sock containing 350 stamp bags of suspected heroin under the seat. Deems said the two would not tell him about where they were coming from or going.

The two were arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Johnson is also charged with the right lane violations and driving with a suspended license. Both were placed in Washington County jail on $100,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 24 before District Judge Jay Weller.
