Teens charged with underage drinking in North Strabane
Several teenagers were charged by North Strabane Township police with underage drinking after two incidents police believe were related early Sunday.
North Strabane police were on patrol about 12:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Galley Road when they saw what appeared to be a teenage girl wearing a candy corn costume staggering along the road.
The 15-year-old Canonsburg girl, who was intoxicated, told police that she was looking for a friend’s house. She was placed in the police car. Officers, with the help of Canonsburg police, were able to find the girl’s grandfather.
About 45 minutes later, police received a report of an underage drinking party in an apartment at 109 Blue Jay Drive, not far from where the girl was found walking. Police discovered a Halloween party involving the underage consumption of alcohol.
Cited with underage drinking were Isaiah Yarbrough, 18, of Canonsburg; two 17-year-old Canonsburg girls; a 16-year-old Canonsburg girl; a 16-year-old Charleroi girl and two 15-year-old boys, one from Canonsburg and the other from Eighty Four.
