Three burglaries reported in Peters Twp. neighborhood
McMURRAY – The front doors on three homes in the same neighborhood in Peters Township were kicked in and rooms ransacked during the same time frame, township police said.
Missing were an unknown amount of rolled coins and $5,000 in cash. Left behind were prescription medication, jewelry, alcohol, guns, a small safe and numerous electronic devices such as iPads and tablets, police said.
Unlike the jewelry, guns and electronic devices, cash and the rolled coins are untraceable.
The first burglary report came in at 8:50 p.m. Friday, when a homeowner on Stratford Drive reported the front door was kicked in and the house ransacked when no one was home, police said. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
At 8:55 p.m. Friday, police were notified of a burglary on Oakwood Road when no one was home. The homeowners returned to find the front door open. Two bedrooms were ransacked, and about $5,000 in cash was stolen, police said
The third burglary was reported at 3:24 p.m. Sunday on Hemock Drive when the homeowners returned after being away since Friday, police said. Again, the front door was kicked in and the house ransacked. A small amount of rolled coins was stolen, police said.
