Waynesburg woman facing charges in Ohio

A Waynesburg woman was indicted Aug. 29 in Columbiana County Court in Lisbon, Ohio, for aggravated vehicular assault and operating a vehicle while under the influence.

Cynthia M. King, 30, of 1467 Kirby Road, is alleged to have driven her vehicle into an oncoming lane of traffic June 29, 2012, on state Route 172 west in West Salem Township, Salem, Ohio, striking another vehicle head-on.

According to police, three people were seriously in the accident – Randall, 35, and Rebecca Merritt Dykes, 34, of Masillon, Ohio, and Agnes Yatsko, 55, of Akron, Ohio.

Yatsko was a passenger in King’s vehicle. Police alleged that King had marijuana metabolite in her system at the time of the collision.

King’s arraignment is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sept. 19 before Judge Scott Washam in the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court general division.
