GRANTVILLE (AP) – A man is facing child endangerment charges after police say he left his 4-year-old granddaughter to wander in a Pennsylvania casino and race track as he gambled on horse races.

State police said 63-year-old Felix Cruz’s granddaughter was left unsupervised for nearly an hour while Cruz gambled at the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course on Aug. 30.

Cruz, of Reading, was issued a summons Thursday charging him with endangering the welfare of a child.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 28.
