WAYNESBURG – Multi-instrumentalist Todd Green will serve as the Glenn A. & Jane L. Crosby Lecture Series speaker. In addition to his lecture and demonstration Oct. 8 in the Marsh Center, Green will also present a concert, “A World of Music with Todd Green,” Oct. 10 in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center on the campus of Waynesburg University. Both events will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free and the public is invited.

Green performs original music on over 30 acoustic string, flute and percussion instruments from all over the world, inspired by many different cultures in the Middle East, Central Asia, Far East and South America. His custom-built electronic system allows him to layer instruments as he performs, which, in effect, turns him into a high-tech, one-man-band of world music. His artistic mission is to “help bring down the barriers that divide us by experiencing other cultures through their music” as he takes his audiences on a musical armchair-tour of the world.

Green frequently conducts college master classes, interactive school clinics and assemblies. His columns on improvisation have been published in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine.

He studied composition and arrangement at Berklee College of Music.

The Glenn A. & Jane L. Crosby Lectures, funded by 1950 Magna Cum Laude graduates of Waynesburg College, Glenn A. and Jane Lichtenfels Crosby, bring to the university visiting scholars who are distinguished in their disciplines. During the visit, the scholars interact with faculty, staff and students, giving guest lectures in classes, formal presentations and informal group talks. The event culminates in a final public lecture.
