1 min read

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Funeral services have been held in northwest Ohio for a toddler who was missing for three months before her remains were found in a garage.

The service for Elaina Steinfurth was held Saturday near Toledo with burial to follow at the Lake Township Cemetery. She was 1 ½ years olds when she was reported missing June 2.

The (Toledo) Blade says the small white casket had her photo printed on the lid. It was carried by four men including her father and grandfather.

The girl’s mother and a man she had been dating are charged with obstructing official business in the girl’s disappearance. The remains were found Sept. 5 in a garage that belongs to the man’s family.

The cause of her death hasn’t been determined.
