DUI crash: Michael Abriatis, 32, of Washington, faces a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol after police said his eastbound vehicle crossed the center line of Route 40 near McGuffey Middle/High School, Buffalo, and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Jacalyn E. Hansell, 57, of Claysville, about 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. State police said Abriatis exhibited signs of intoxication. Hansell suffered unknown injuries.
Drug arrest: Timothy Gamble, 18, of 416 Giffin Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested by Canonsburg police after an officer reportedly spotted what appeared to be a drug transaction between the suspect and a man riding a bicycle in the 400 block of Giffin. Police said they found a stamp bag of suspected heroin and several empty stamp bags. Gamble was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on a charge of possession of heroin and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Gambling violation alleged: The operators of Rye’s Bar and Restaurant, 248 Old National Pike, Centerville, were cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly possessing or operating gambling devices or permitting gambling or lotteries. The violations allegedly happened on eight dates between May and September 2013.
Restaurant cited: The owners of Rego’s Restaurant, 601 McKean Ave., Charleroi, were charged last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement with selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor Feb. 19.
Receiving charge: Tonio Brian-Anthony Howard, 22, of 372 Pennsylvania Ave., North Charleroi, was arrested late Monday on a warrant on a charge of receiving stolen property. Charleroi Regional police said Howard reportedly was driving a black BMW reported stolen Feb. 14 from Ross Automotive, 621 McKean Ave. Howard was spotted on store surveillance tape behind the wheel, police said. The car was recovered in late February. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Home entered: Keith Brown of 714 Sixth St., Marianna, told state police Monday that his house was entered and items were rummaged through, but nothing was stolen.
Assault arrest: William J. Blumling, 28, of 224 Center Ave., McDonald, was arrested Monday night by McDonald police for allegedly assaulting Rhonda Snyder at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment, and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Drug charges: Drew Keenan, 20, of 3052 Jefferson Ave., Washington, was charged with possession of marijuana, driving with an expired license and disorderly conduct after North Franklin police said they found marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop March 26. The charges were sent by summons through District Judge Robert Redlinger’s office.
Twice charged: Musibau B. Williams, 31 of Pittsburgh, was charged twice Sunday by state police at The Meadows Casino, North Strabane, with criminal trespass after he allegedly showed up at the casino at 4:23 p.m. and again at 11:30 p.m., despite having been previously banned from casino property. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Liquor law violation alleged: The operator of Double Tree Pittsburgh/Meadowlands, 340 Racetrack Road, North Strabane, was cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement last month with selling or furnishing liquor to a minor on Jan. 29.
Five juveniles cited: Four 14-year-old boys and one 15-year-old boy, all from Peters Township, were issued citations after police found the boys on the roof of the amphitheater in Peterswood Park at 7:18 p.m. Monday. The boys all came off the roof and cooperated with the officer, police said.
One injured: A motorcyclist was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:51 a.m. Monday on West McMurray Road near the intersection with Village Green Drive, township police said. A witness told police a sport utility vehicle operated by Thomas Tomasik, 67, of 310 E. McMurray Road, McMurray, was traveling west on West McMurray Road and failed to make a left turn onto Village Green Drive, but instead turned left onto a grassy area parallel to West McMurray Road, just west of the intersection. Motorcyclist Joseph Zahn, 58, of 84 Old Farm Road, Canonsburg, was traveling east on West McMurray Road and collided with Tomasik’s vehicle as it turned toward the grassy area, police said. The impact caused Zahn to fly over the handlebars and land on the pavement. He injured his shoulder and received a cut on his head. Zahn was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment. Tomasik was not injured, police said.
