City agency sky high over filming marathon
The Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon is still a month away, but a Washington ad agency has already stepped into the winner’s circle.
Fresh Media Group reached an agreement Wednesday morning to shoot video of the marathon weekend May 2-4 in downtown Pittsburgh. It will film the race from above with video copters and all other events during the weekend with cameras on the ground.
“This is really exciting,” said Jennifer Trapuzzano, Fresh Media co-owner with A.J. Brach.
The agreement is a coup for the company, which is on West Chestnut Street and just turned a year old. This will be the first time the sixth annual marathon will be filmed from the air.
Trapuzzano said Fresh Media will use “at least” two multi-blade video copters, which are remote controlled, for the race and three on-ground cameras.
