Hupp resigns from Trinity School Board
Jenene Hupp has resigned from Trinity Area School Board, citing several reasons, including her belief she is being deliberately excluded from school board goings-on.
Hupp submitted her resignation, effective immediately, on Wednesday.
Hupp said in her letter, “I’m finding that I am an outcast on the current board due to past practices. I am uncomfortable with the current situations with both the personal lawsuits against myself and not being able to share my opinions in transportation within the district.”
Hupp also believes she has not been included in current board affairs, phone calls, meetings and correspondence.
Hupp, two other Trinity board members and the school district are facing a lawsuit filed by GG&C Bus Co. in December 2012 after the board voted in November of that year to seek outside proposals for the bus transportation contract instead of extending the district’s contract with GG&C, the district’s longtime transportation provider. Hupp, who is employed by Schweinebraten Bus Co., is barred by court order from participating in transportation discussions and votes. The lawsuit has not been settled.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure as a board member. I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve,” wrote Hupp, who said she was “all about the kids and Trinity pride” when she served. She advised board members to have “no personal agenda or personal gains in mind” when making district-related decisions.
Hupp was serving her third year on the school board and represents Amwell and North Franklin townships.
The board will have 30 days after accepting Hupp’s resignation to publicize the opening, accept resumes and appoint a replacement.
