Lions Club honors two Jefferson-Morgan students

JEFFERSON – Haley Fowler and Nathaniel Bianchi, seniors at Jefferson-Morgan High School, were honored by the Clarksville Area Lions Club as students of the month for April and May, respectively.

Fowler, daughter of Thomas and Sue Fowler of Jefferson, maintains a 3.47 grade-point average.

She is a member of drama club, Leo club and youth traffic safety and is vice president of the class of 2014, yearbook editor and captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. She also participates in track.

Fowler volunteers at vacation bible school and for the preschool of her church, rings bells for Salvation Army and has placed flags on graves for veterans. She also has participated in the Angel Tree program in association with Catholic Charities.

Fowler plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in business.

Bianchi, son of Clyde and Melissa Bice of Mather, maintains a 3.75 grade-point average.

He is a member of the basketball and track teams, debate team, Leo club and envirothon and was the recipient of an FFA award in 2011. He received a Lock-to-Dock Run Award in May 2013 for his efforts in promoting cancer awareness.

Bianchi has participated in Relay for Life for the last four years and this year he was recognized by the Challenge Program for his community service commitments.

After graduation, Bianchi plans to join the U.S. Navy.
