PennDOT announces Greene work schedule

Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerome Simkovic announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 7. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis.

Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

The schedule is as follows:

•Crack and shoulder sealing will begin on Interstate 79 from the Waynesburg interchange (Franklin Township) to the Mt. Morris interchange (Perry Township).

•Bridge cleaning will be completed from the West Virginia state line to Kirby Road, Route 2018 in Whiteley Township.

•Crack sealing operations will begin in Whiteley and Franklin townships.

•Patching will take place from the West Virginia border to Calvin Run.

•Crack sealing will begin on South Bound lanes from Waynesburg to Mt. Morris.

•Patching will take place on 2010 Holbert Stretch (Dunkard Township) from the Greene County line to New Town.

•Patching operations will be conducted on Route 218, Smith Creek Road, Franklin Township, from the borough of Waynesburg to the West Virginia state line.

•Patching operations will begin on Route 21, from intersection with Route 2026, Rolling Meadows Road, (Franklin Township) to Route 1017, Kovalcheck Road (Cumberland Township).

•Patching operations will take place on Route 88 from the Greene County line at Point Marion Bridge (Dunkard Township) to the borough of Carmichaels (Cumberland Township).

•Bridge crews will be conducting minor bridge repairs on Route 88 near Gwynn Street (T884) (Cumberland Township)

•Minor bridge repair will be conducted on Route 1011, Clarksville Road near Bridge Street in Clarksville (Morgan Township). Additionally, major slide repair will be performed throughout Jefferson Township adjacent to this roadway.

•Patching operations are planned for Route 18, Golden Oaks Road from Rogersville, (Center Township) to the West Virginia state line (Freeport Township).

•Bridge maintenance is planned on Route 18, Browns Creek Road (Morris Township) near the intersection of Route 4019, Andrew Road (Morris Township).

•Bridge deck plate repairs will be conducted on Route 4017, Scott Run Road (Center Township) near intersection with Patterson Creek Road, Township Road T581.

•Patching operations will begin on Route 21 West Roy E. Furman Highway, (Center Township) to the West Virginia state line (Richhill Township).

•Bridge maintenance, back-filling and cross pipe repairs will be conducted on Route 3001, Windy Gap Road (Springhill Township).

•Major slide repair operations will be conducted on Route 4021, Deer Lick Station Road (Morris Township) near Reeves Road (Morris Township Road).

•Concrete culvert maintenance will be performed on Route 1021, Crucible Road (Cumberland Township) near the intersection with Route 1023, Jacobs Ferry Road (Cumberland Township).

•State roads will be reviewed and signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.

•The State Correctional Institution of Greene’s Community Work Program will conduct roadside litter pick-up operations all week on Route 21, East Roy E. Furman Highway from Waynesburg Borough (Franklin Township) to Greene County and Fayette County line.
