Bomb threat reported at Canonsburg pharmacy

1 min read

A Canonsburg pharmacy and a street were closed briefly Monday afternoon after a caller reportedly threatened to blow up the store if $500 was not loaded on five cash cards.

Canonsburg police said an assistant manager at Walgreen’s, 100 Cavasina Drive, answered the telephone about 4 p.m. and talked with a man who spoke with a Middle Eastern accent. The caller reportedly claimed he was going to blow up the store if he did not receive the money on the cards.

The store and area were searched but nothing unusual was found. Store management told police that similar calls have been reported at Walgreen’s in other parts of the country.
