Residents invited to drop off tires

1 min read

MAX Environmental Technologies, Inc. is inviting residents of the Bulger and Midway area to drop off up to eight unwanted tires each at no charge on April 27. The event will be held at MAX’s Bulger facility, 200 MAX Lane, off Candor Road, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

This will be the third year for the Earth Day event at MAX’s Bulger facility. With the cost of tire recycling increasing, MAX is asking each resident to bring a maximum of eight tires. “We want to be able to reach as many residents as possible with the resources we have,” said Carl Spadaro, environmental general manager. “If some of our neighbors have more than eight tires to recycle this year, we can still accept them, but we will be asking for $5 in cash per tire to help offset the additional costs and to keep the event open to everyone in our area.”

Tires collected at the event will be sent to licensed recycling facilities. MAX notes that complimentary recycling services are extended to local area residents only; tires cannot be accepted by commercial operators.
