Police beat April 16
Assault charge: Gail Lynn Allen was charged by McDonald police with simple assault and harassment following a domestic dispute at 69 Highland Drive, according to an affidavit filed in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Allen, 49, of 6 Morningside Drive, Wintersville, Ohio, was arraigned before Ellis early Tuesday and placed in Washington County jail on $2,000 bond. Police said Allen struck Gregory Williams in the chest multiple times with her fist and scratched his face with her fingernails during an argument at 11:18 p.m. Monday.
Driver arraigned: Gerald Obiecunas, 28, of 1300 Highfield Court, Bethel Park, was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Mark on charges filed by Canonsburg police in connection with a pursuit March 28. He was released on $25,000 unsecured bond.
Two charged in assault: Jennifer D. Tustin, 35, and Robert M. Tustin, 46, both of 123 S. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, were arrested Monday by Canonsburg police on charges they assaulted each other during a confrontation at 31 Iron St. Jennifer Tustin also is accused of hitting her mother-in-law in the head with a computer keyboard. They were arraigned before District Judge David Mark on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bonds. Jennifer Tustin also will be charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Police said they found the drug in her purse and in a holding cell. Those charges will be filed later.
Mischief charge: Kevin A. Brooks, 40, of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four, was charged Monday by Canonsburg police with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging three tires on a vehicle owned by Mariam Nichols while it was parked at 122 S. Central Ave. Jan. 28. Damage was estimated at $500. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Flight charge: John Q. Lazear, 34, of 423 W. College St., Canonsburg, was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of flight to avoid apprehension filed by Canonsburg police. He is accused of running from a state parole agent who was trying to take him for a drug test after reportedly finding suspected drug paraphernalia during a compliance check Jan. 15. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark, who set bond at $25,000 bond.
Two hurt: Callie R. Munch, 23, of 219 S. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, and James W. Baughman, 61, of 213 W. Grant St., Houston, were injured Monday when their vehicles collided on Adams Avenue near Brown Alley. Canonsburg police said Munch’s vehicle struck the back of Baughman’s vehicle. The drivers went to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.
Warrant arrest: George L. Droboj, 38, of 3745 Buffalo Creek Road, Avella, was arraigned Monday before District Judge David Mark on charges including aggravated assault stemming from an April 5 incident involving his wife and children on South Hewitt Avenue, Canton. State police said he allegedly grabbed the steering wheel while his wife was driving. When she got out of the car and was trying to reach inside for her daughter’s jacket, he reportedly sped off while her arm was still inside. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bond.
Impersonating, tampering charges: Steven Hunter, 55, of Dormont was charged Friday by state police with tampering with public records, impersonating a public servant and title violations stemming from a March 8 incident on Interstate 79, Cecil. A Canonsburg man told state police a driver following him activated what appeared to be emergency lights. The Canonsburg man was suspicious because of the behavior of the other driver, later identified as Hunter, and got a license plate number. State police said they determined Hunter had improperly registered vehicles, and that the car he allegedly was driving at the time of the incident with the Canonsburg man was equipped with red and blue LED lights. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Arrested in chase: Ryan Robison, 35, of 121 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with flight to avoid apprehension, fleeing or eluding police and reckless endangerment, court records show. He is accused of leading police on a vehicle pursuit after failing to pull over about 11:30 a.m. March 30 in the 700 block of Fallowfield Avenue. A police cruiser blocked his car a short time later, allowing an officer to arrest him on a warrant out of Westmoreland County. Robison is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond after being arraigned Monday by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
Drug charges: Aaron Russell McDonald. 30, of 148 DiCio St., was charged Monday by North Strabane police with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Police said they found the suspected drug when they were called to his home after he reportedly overdosed April 4. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Cart damaged: A golf cart was damaged Monday at Lindenwood Golf Course on Galley Road. North Strabane police said the steering wheel was broken. The windshield and an umbrella also were damaged.
Access device fraud: A resident told police her credit card was used without permission to purchase an iPad Touch from Walmart online for $291. The fraud was reported at 9:32 a.m. Monday.
Threats alleged: Amy Jo Chenney, 40, of 1500 Jefferson Ave., Canton Township, was arrested Monday on a warrant obtained by state police. She is accused of calling Janice Keller of South Franklin on the telephone last month and threatening to come out and shoot her daughter, Julie Ann Mounts, in the face in front of her children. Chenney also allegedly called Mounts April 8, telling her she was going to come to her house and kill everyone, then called April 9 to tell Keller she wasn’t kidding. She was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on two counts each of terroristic threats, harassment and reckless endangerment. She was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Exposure charge: Robert E. Calvert, 50, of Pittsburgh, was charged Monday by state police with indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed himself to another man as their vehicles traveled on Interstate 70 westbound near the north junction with Interstate 79, South Strabane, April 4. The other driver, identified as being from Indianapolis, Ind., was able to give police a license plate number. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug charge: Dorian Eli Wallace was charged with violating the drug act for the alleged sale of 27.6 grams of marijuana at 1:07 p.m. July 19, 2011, according to an affidavit filed Monday in the office of District Judge James Ellis. Wallace, 27, of 178 May St., Washington, is accused of selling the marijuana to a confidential informant in an alley off Allison Avenue near Henderson Avenue, state police said. Wallace was released on his own recognizance.
