Area libraries to forgive overdue fines this week

2 min read

To celebrate libraries and appreciation of patrons, Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg and Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels are offering Fine Free Week during National Library Week now through Saturday. Bring back your overdue materials, and the fines will be removed.

The Greene County Library System has also launched its Geek the Library campaign. The campaign takes the word “geek” and turns it into a verb meaning something you are passionate about or love.

No matter what it is you geek, the libraries support you and can help you better explore that topic. It is a way for the community to learn about the libraries and the libraries to learn about the community. Stop by the libraries in Waynesburg and Carmichaels to learn more about Geek the Library or visit www.geekthelibrary.org .
