Donora woman accused of interfering in case

2 min read

DONORA – A Donora woman was arrested Monday on a charge she hindered the apprehension of a drug suspect earlier this month.

Borough police said Chelsea Hill, 24, of 221 Waddell Ave., refused to provide the location of Gregory Moon, 24, of Monessen, who was accused of fleeing on foot from an April 4 traffic stop after leading officers on a high-speed chase while driving her vehicle, court record state.

Police said they found a large amount of crack in the car, which an officer initially attempted to pull over on the Donora-Monessen Bridge because Moon was wanted in Washington County on a parole violation in a December 2012 drug case.

Officers went to Hill’s residence about 12:15 a.m. and noticed fresh footprints in mud leading to the door and Moon standing in a bedroom doorway, the affidavit states.

Hill allegedly refused to give police the password to open her smartphone and said investigators would need to obtain a search warrant to access the device. Hill also may be charged with false reports to police because, court records allege, she went the next day to the Donora police station to report her car stolen.

She was released Monday from Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.

District Judge Mark Wilson issued a warrant for Moon’s arrest in the case on charges of drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, fleeing and eluding police, obstruction of justice, flight to avoid prosecution, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
