State police are accepting applications for Troop B’s Camp Cadet to be held July 13 through 19 at the Linsly Outdoor Center at Raccoon Creek State Park.

To be eligible for attendance, youngsters must be at least 12 years old and no older than 14 by July 13. Children must be a resident of the area served by Troop B, including Washington, Greene, Fayette and Allegheny counties, as well as the southwestern part of Westmoreland County. Applicants also should be in good physical shape.

Emphasis is placed on developing skills such as self-discipline, ability to make new friends and working as a member of a team.

Applications are available at the local state police barracks and online at www.orgsites.com/pa/troop-b-camp-cadet.

The deadline is May 31.
