North Strabane firefighters right on the spot

1 min read

North Strabane Township firefighters were certainly right on the spot Saturday morning when a small fire broke out at International Paper on Route 519.

Firefighters were staging in the parking lot at the business about 9:30 a.m. while a mass casualty incident drill was being conducted at Wylandville Elementary School when a worker came running out, telling them there was a fire, said fire Chief Mark Grimm.

Grinding being done outside the building caught some insulation on fire. Grimm said there was a lot of smoke but little fire.
