Police in Ohio: Man shot to death would-be robber

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Authorities said a man who was held at gunpoint in Columbus and ordered to drive to an ATM instead shot to death his captor.

Columbus police say Kenneth Owens tells them that a man tried to rob him and forced him to drive to an ATM to withdraw money Friday night. Owens says that as they were driving there, he took out his own handgun and shot the man, who died later at a hospital from his wounds. Police have not named him.

Authorities are investigating.
