Former McMurray car dealership office manager pleads guilty to embezzling
The former office manager for a McMurray car dealership pleaded guilty in federal court recently to embezzling $700,000 from her employer.
Deborah Cassini, 61, of New Castle, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and submitting false income tax returns. Cassini, who worked for Three Rivers Volkswagon, embezzled the money by making payments for her personal credit card and vehicle from the company’s bank account, issuing herself additional compensation, skimming cash, writing checks to herself and withdrawing cash from the company’s account, the U.S. district attorney’s office said.
Cassini faces as long as 89 years in prison , a fine of as much as $1,750,000, or both. Sentencing has been set for 10 a.m. Nov. 20.
Cassini remains free on bond pending her sentencing.
