Power problem at Washington Crown Center fixed

1 min read

Two Washington Crown Center stores that were without electricity for two days returned to operations Tuesday.

Power was restored to Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts and Payless Shoe Source before the North Franklin Township mall opened at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Diane Holder, spokeswoman for West Penn Power, electricity supplier for the mall, blamed the outage on wiring inside those stores. “It wasn’t a problem with our equipment,” she said.

Holder said the retailers rectified that problem Monday evening before West Penn restored power, putting them back in business.
