1 min read

WAYNESBURG – The Greene County sheriff’s office was approved for a Bureau of Justice Assistance grant in the amount of $3,695.35 for the purchase of ballistic vests.

The sheriff’s office received word of the grant approval early Tuesday morning. The funds will be distributed from the federal Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant and should be available to the office within the next few weeks.

Sheriff Brian Tennant said, “The grant money will be used to help offset costs that were incurred from equipping new employees.”
