Surgeons join Greene Co. medical staff
WAYNESBURG – Southwest Regional Medical Center announced Monday two general surgeons have been added to its medical staff.
Drs. Brent E. Angott and John M. Mitchell of Angott Surgical Associates are now seeing patients at their new Waynesburg location on the first floor of the hospital. Angott Surgical Associates also has an office in Washington.
“We are excited to open an office in Greene County,” said Angott. “The new location will provide the community with more convenient access to general surgical services.”
Angott and Mitchell will see patients in the office, by appointment, and perform a full range of general surgical procedures at Southwest Regional Medical Center.
“Many of our physicians have been referring patients to Angott Surgical Associates for several years,” said Kelly Ankrom, director of surgical services. “Opening an office right here shows a strong commitment to our patients and our community. I could not be more excited to welcome them to Southwest Regional Medical Center.”
Angott attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Pinnacle Health System. He currently serves as a board member for Tristate Surgical Center. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Medicine, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
Mitchell attended the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and completed his residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. He also received an award as the specialist preceptor of the year from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Angott and Mitchell will perform a full range of general and laparoscopic surgical procedures, including hernia repair, colon and bowel surgeries, appendectomies, gallbladder removal and breast surgery.
