Pa. guidance counselor on leave; FB threat probed
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A high school guidance counselor is on leave while officials investigate a Facebook post that allegedly threatened to “shoot” protesters outside a Philadelphia Eagles game.
The Central Bucks School District is trying to verify if counselor MaryKate Blankenburg of Upper Gwynedd was involved in the post.
Authorities say it called the protesters “idiots” and threatened to shoot them if “my child cannot get to the Eagles game.”
The 37-year-old Blankenburg told them a child “might have gotten hold of my iPad” on Sunday.
Her answering machine Monday is no longer accepting messages.
Superintendent David Weitzel says the Central Bucks West counselor is on leave amid the probe by school and local officials.
The peaceful protests involved the police deaths of two unarmed black men.
