Police beat Dec. 9
Resisting, mischief charges: Brad Yasek, 28, of 265 Vine St., Canonsburg, was arrested Saturday by Canonsburg police on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, public drunkenness and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from an incident in the parking lot of the AGA Club, 10 N. Jefferson Ave. Yasek was asked to leave the club and allegedly went into the parking lot and vandalized vehicles. Police said a witness tackled him and attempted to take a knife from Yasek. Police said they found Yasek in possession of another knife and suspected marijuana and paraphernalia. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Warrant arrest: Steven A. Wallace, 29, who has addresses in Canonsburg and Washington, reportedly jumped off a bridge on Morganza Road into Chartiers Creek about 3 p.m. Sunday, then walked out of the creek into a nearby parking lot. Police were called and said Wallace gave them several names and birthdates, but officers determined his identity and learned he was wanted on an adult probation warrant. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment and later taken to Washington County jail.
Pedestrian identified: Betty Crispin, 70, of Canonsburg, was identified as the woman hit by a vehicle about 5:45 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of West Pike Street. The driver, Carol L. Acheson, 74, of Grace Avenue, Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police the other woman stepped into the path of her vehicle and she could not avoid hitting her. Crispin was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of a head injury. A hospital spokeswoman said she was in fair condition Monday.
Card stolen: Canonsburg police said a credit/debit card owned by Richard Hazinski of Canonsburg was used at several businesses without his permission. The theft was reported Saturday.
Assault charge: Police were called after an early morning disturbance was reported Sunday at the Red Roof Inn in Canton Township and found a woman was shoved into a desk and heater, suffering a black eye and lacerations. Police arrested Terry Ray Miracle, no age given, of Canton, Mich., for simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Miracle was placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Threat charges: Amalachi Martell Reid, 19, of 24 Grant St., Houston, was charged Friday by Chartiers police with terroristic threats and harassment for allegedly threatening another teen on Facebook. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Escapes injury: Lexi Hrip, 17, of Aerial Drive, Canonsburg, and two other teenagers in her vehicle escaped injury Friday afternoon when her vehicle went off Valley Road and slid down an embankment into a creek, Chartiers police said.
Drug charges: Dustin Mikec, 33, of 304 W. Grant St., Houston, was charged Friday by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force with possession of heroin and paraphernalia stemming from a Dec. 2 traffic stop at West Pike and First streets, Houston. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Theft, false reports: Nancy J. Fleeher, 58, of 152 Valleycrest Drive, Cecil, was charged Thursday by North Strabane police with theft and false reports to police after she allegedly took a coat owned by a another patron at The Meadows Casino last month. The coat had $56 in the pockets, police said. Fleeher reportedly told police she thought the coat belonged to her daughter. When asked by police why she did not return the coat, Fleeher allegedly told them she was not going to turn around and return to the casino. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Guns stolen: Theodore Hildebrand of Chevalier Court, Nottingham, told state police Sunday two guns were stolen from his home.
Assault alleged: Police responded Friday to a dispute between a father and son on Druid Drive. Officers said they found Maxwell Christopher Madler, 22, struck his father with a baseball bat during an argument. Madler was charged with simple assault and aggravated assault. He faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge James Ellis Dec. 16.
Threats, disorderly charges: Dylan Jade Flynn, 20, of 38 W. Walnut St., Washington, was arrested Sunday by South Strabane police after allegedly creating a disturbance at SPHS Health, 1961 S. Main St. He reportedly threatened a staff member with a fire extinguisher. He also allegedly had a “hit list” in which he threatened to harm people. He was arraigned before District Judge James Ellis on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Theft charge: Scott Michael Jordan, 30, of 752 Duncan Ave., Washington, will be charged by South Strabane police with retail theft after he allegedly stole items from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, Nov. 27. Police said he was pushing an empty baby stroller through the store. Security said he was putting items in the stroller. He then allegedly took a winter jacket, went into the dressing room and came out wearing the new coat. When confronted by store security, he ran out of the store wearing the new coat but leaving behind the stroller, police said. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Signs, posts stolen: Four street signs and posts valued at $320 were reported stolen Thursday to Southwest Regional police. The signs were for Cookie Lane, McChain Court, Brownsville Road and McChain Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.
Assault charge: Police arrested James Edward Grayson, 37, of 45 Shaw Avenue, after he allegedly “formed his hand into a bladed edge” and pressed it into his wife’s neck in an attempt to strangle her. Grayson was charged with assault and placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond. He faces a preliminary hearing before District Judge Robert Redlinger Dec. 19.
Drug charges: Police said they arrested Abbie Medford, 26, of Jefferson Estates, Waynesburg, after an officer observed her failing to signal or stop for a turn onto Maple Terrace. When her vehicle was stopped, police said stamp bags fell out of her car. She allegedly told police she had heroin inside her. A female officer performed a search and found heroin in a body cavity, police said. Medford was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
