Ministerium sponsoring candlelight walk

CARMICHAELS – The Carmichaels Ministerium is sponsoring its second annual Candlelight Walk through Christmas Dec. 21.

For those who don’t want to walk, a bus is being provided by Greene Valley Church of God and driven by their pastor, Jeff Hathaway. If you don’t want to walk or ride the bus you may drive your own vehicle.

At 5 p.m. the Candlelight Walk will begin at the Carmichaels senior citizens center parking lot, 100 Nemacolin Way. Battery operated lights will be provided by the Carmichaels Ministerium or you may bring your own. Please bring your own flashlight and dress for weather conditions. In case of severe weather the entire program will be presented at Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 East Greene Street, Carmichaels.

Song leader will be Pastor Joshua Koss, who will be assisted by a portable sound system to lead Christmas caroling. The Rev. Rebecca Dittenhafer will be the narrator and the Rev. Keith Larson will read scripture passages.

The first drama will be at the senior citizens center featuring “Mary’s Father” portrayed by Larson.

The second drama will be at the First Christian Church, 235 South Market St., Carmichaels, with “Rebekah, a Bethlehem resident,” portrayed by Courtney Townsend.

The third drama will be at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 224 South Market Street, Carmichaels with the “Innkeeper’s wife” portrayed by Jenny Robinson.

The fourth drama will be at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with the “Old Shepherd” portrayed by Dale Mitchell.

The fifth drama will be at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 East Greene Street, Carmichaels. Soloist will be Allie Christopher and the Rev. Bruce Judy will portray “The Wise Man.”

All dramas are about 10 minutes long.

Winners of the “Keep Christ in Christmas” contest will be announced during the fellowship time at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, where refreshments will be provided by local churches.
