Cal U. commencement set

Retired California University of Pennsylvania president Dr. John Pierce Watkins will deliver addresses at the school’s winter commencements this week.

Watkins will speak at the undergraduate commencement, which begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, and also at the graduate school ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, California University of Pennsylvania announced.

Both events will be held in the California University of Pennsylvania Convocation Center.

Watkins graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1953 and served as its president from 1977 to 1992.

More than 575 undergraduates and 700 graduate students will receive degrees.
