PITTSBURGH (AP) – Police say a Pittsburgh man who pleaded guilty to abusing another child has been arrested in the beating death of his girlfriend’s 6-month-old daughter.

Kenneth Reeves was arraigned early Thursday on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Kamero Newton.

The 29-year-old is jailed without bail. Court records did not list a lawyer.

Police say Reeves beat the girl into unconsciousness Saturday. Doctors at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh declared her brain dead on Monday and removed her from life support on Wednesday.

Her organs have been donated.

Court records show Reeves pleaded guilty in September to charges he beat an ex-girlfriend’s 3-year-old son. A judge sentenced him to a supervised release program and ordered him to take anger management classes.
