2 shot in Pennsylvania home likely murder-suicide

1 min read

LOWER BURRELL (AP) – Police identified a married couple found shot to death in their Western Pennsylvania home, and a deputy coroner said it appears to be a murder-suicide.

Lower Burrell police said a relative found the bodies of 45-year-old Mark McDade and 42-year-old Leanne McDade in a bedroom of their home shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday.

Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Sean Hribal said it appears Mark McDade shot his wife before shooting himself sometime Wednesday evening.

Autopsies to confirm that were scheduled later Thursday.

The couple lived in a modest, single-family home about 25 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.

Officials at Stewart Elementary School three blocks away were notified of the shooting as a precaution, but the Burrell School District didn’t lock down that building or any of its other facilities.
