A South Franklin Township man charged in an East Finley Township dirt bike crash that injured his 3-year-old son earlier this year waived his case to court Tuesday.

Kyle Matthew Hilderbrand, 21, of 180 Old Scales Road, waived charges of reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of children and several traffic violations. A charge of receiving stolen property was withdrawn by the prosecution.

Hilderbrand was arrested by state police Dec. 8 in connection with the Aug. 10 crash on Quaker Ridge Road. Hilderbrand and his son, who was wearing a bicycle helmet, were thrown from the dirt bike when it crashed after hitting loose gravel. The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC for treatment of a broken leg and concussion.

Hilderbrand is free on $25,000 bond. He is scheduled for formal arraignment Feb. 24.
