Southwestern Home Care named to elite list
Southwestern Home Care was recently named to the HomeCare Elite List of Agencies. The HomeCare Elite recognition program lists the top 25 percent of home health agencies in the country.
The National Research Corporation analyzes publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) cost reports to create the HomeCare Elite List of Agencies.
Five areas of performance were analyzed: quality of care; quality improvement and consistency; patient experience; process measure implementation; and financial performance.
“I am incredibly proud of our entire team,” said Lisa Balint, director of Southwestern Home Care. “Everyone truly cares about their patients and does everything possible to ensure a positive outcome. It is so nice that their efforts are being recognized by this prestigious award,” she said.
To determine the HomeCare Elite List of Agencies, agency performance in each of the five areas was compared against the performance of other organizations in their state and nationwide.
The areas were combined into one overall score, using a weighting methodology that gives the greatest importance to quality of care. The top 25 percent of agencies in each region, both facility-based and free-standing, were identified and added to the national list.
Southwestern Home Care was established in 1979 and provides many services to support this growing need. Their registered nurses, physical and occupational therapists and aids offer a range of medical and therapeutic services including wound therapy, lab testing, IV therapy, tube feedings, administration of chemotherapy and medical social services. Southwestern Home Care has an established partnership with Advanced Physical Therapy of Waynesburg to provide physical and occupational therapy services.
