Bridge in California to close for replacement

1 min read

Work to replace the bridge that carries South Ridge Road over Pike Run in California will begin Feb. 17, the state Department of Transportation said. This $1.1 million project includes the bridge replacement, minor approach work, drainage, signage and pavement markings.

On Feb. 17, the bridge will be closed and a marked detour will be in place that uses Pike Run Drive and South California Drive. The project is expected to complete in late October 2014.

This is a design-build project where the winning bid included the design by Gibson-Thomas Engineering, Inc. and the construction by Frank Gavlik & Sons.
