• Action: Council voted to begin working on a handbook for borough employees. Council members also approved head-in parking signs in all municipal lots, at a cost of about $450, and approved color-coded signs for individuals who have permits for borough-owned lots.
Council voted to authorize Cohen & Associates to review the cell tower ordinance and determine if the borough can impose a fee on antennas.
Council voted 4-3 to appoint Rob Luksis to a fill a vacancy on Canonsburg-Houston Joint Authority caused by the death of Art Taylor. Paul Sharkady, Tim Bilsky and John Severine opposed his appointment, and John Bevec, Rich Russo, Fran Coleman and Joseph McGarry voted to approve him.
Several committee positions need to be filled, and council urged interested individuals to contact Borough Manager Bob Kipp.
Council voted to authorize an appraisal of a borough-owned lot adjacent to property owned by Jim Tatano at the corner of East Pitt and Tannehill streets. Tatano expressed interest in purchasing the property.
