W.Va. man charged in burglaries
A West Virginia man suspected in several burglaries almost three years ago in Amwell, Buffalo, East Finley and South Franklin townships was arraigned Tuesday on charges filed by state police.
Gerald “Bug” Blaine Vaughan, 29, of Wheeling, is suspected of burglarizing homes in East Finley Drive in East Finley, Lone Pine and Shipe Run roads in Amwell, Route 40 in Buffalo and Old Scales Road in South Franklin between June 27 and Sept. 21, 2011.
Items stolen included jewelry, cash, vintage coins, safes and a computer.
A Warwood High School class ring, reported stolen by Carl Barnhart of Buffalo, was sold at a pawn shop, police said.
Warrants have been obtained for the arrest of two others in the burglaries.
Vaughan was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of burglary, conspiracy, theft and criminal mischief.
He was placed in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond. A preliminary hearing is set for before District Judge Ethan Ward.
